We all know how important standardized tests are to the college admissions process. A strong score can make the difference when applying to colleges.
As a result of a partnership with an experienced colleague who has successfully prepared students for standardized tests for over 15 years, Dana Stein Academics this summer and fall will offer ACT/SAT tutoring in small groups or on a one-to-one basis (private instruction).
Lisa Burns will be the instructor/private tutor. She is a certified teacher at the high school level and works at Deerfield High School. Lisa is knowledgeable, warm, and most importantly committed to helping students see meaningful improvement in their scores. She recently taught a Dana Stein Academics ACT/SAT summer boot camp sessions.
The instruction will give students exposure to the test and sample questions—both of which are critical for success—and much more. The tutoring will cover preparation for all four areas of the exams: English, Reading, Math and Science. In addition to getting familiar with the exam, students will learn effective and proven strategies around how to take the test and bring a positive attitude to the process.
These sessions are built around the same principles that make the offerings from Dana Stein Academics so beneficial and sought after; there will be small group sizes, quality instruction, and a focus on student goals and outcomes.
