Educational Consulting

Educational consulting can be as simple as having an expert discussing an appropriate educational plan or sit in on a school meeting as an advocate. It also includes reading, reviewing and interpreting evaluations; helping to establish next steps, timelines and schedules; and explaining Individualized Educational Programs (IEP), Response to Intervention plans (RTI) and 504 plans, which ensure that a child with a disability receives accommodations that result in academic success. By establishing a positive and productive relationship between school and family, Dana or a specialized team member serves as an educational consultant who sets up students for success. Dana is experienced in effectively communicating with teachers and administrators, and she can assist in crafting concise emails and letters that produce results. 

Additionally, Dana can support parents when they receive information about their child from medical professionals. Dana communicates regularly with several pediatric neuropsychologists and is skilled in pulling key concepts and takeaways from reports that can otherwise leave parents overwhelmed. These conclusions and Dana's expertise can help determine next steps, a positive approach and strategies for navigating the school system.
